Let’s Stick Together! Fun with Felting

In this camp, we will learn the basics of the two main kinds of felting: needle felting and wet felting. By using wool fibers and friction, campers will be able to create textiles and functional or art objects. Needle felting can be used to create 2-dimensional “paintings” or 3-dimensional objects such as animals. Wet felting can be used to create useful accessories such as scarves, baskets, and pouches. What you create will be up to you! Ruth is an art teacher at RVNS.

Embodied Art

This camp will explore the intersections of art and the body with an emphasis on movement and play. Can rest be art? Can jumping be art? What does art look like when it isn’t made with our hands? With short-term projects, embodiment exercises, and reflection practices students are invited to explore how art lives within the body in beautiful ways. Michelle is a teaching assistant at RVNS.
